BMW Launches New Distribution System For X5

Here at the BMW of Riverside blog, we try to keep our customers in the loop about the latest developments not just at the lot, but at our company as a whole. This update directly affects how BMW of Riverside is going to do business and oh boy, it's a quite the positive development that will even have an impact on you, the customer. For the 2012 bmw x5, BMW's North American branch is developing a brand-new distribution system!

Instead of having dozens of X5's taking up space in our lot, the X5's will be held at 3 pooling locations in the United States. So if we are supposed to have 15 of the X5, some of them will be held at a central location. What this will do is make the entire North American inventory more available to dealers who need the vehicles while also being able to reduce floor plan costs. There's a substantial amount of overhead involved in storing vehicles and this plan will allow us to improve our business substantially with all the money we will be saving.

It's estimated that the BMW dealerships around the country could collectively save millions of dollars with the new plan. This distribution model was tested over a six-month period last year with five dealerships around San Diego with the 3-series and was so successful they've decided to take it nationally with the 2012 bmw x5. More information will be available after February's big dealer meeting in San Diego, though the new distribution model should go into effect in the second half of the year. Stay tuned to the BMW of Riverside blog and feel free to stop by with any questions!
