As we await the new BMW ActiveHybrid 3 here at BMW of Riverside, we hear much about the new hybrid technology being utilized to make the car not only continue the performance levels of a new BMW, but maximize efficiency as well. Many associate that with the engineering under the hood, and while that's a big part of it, there's another onboard system helping make the ActiveHybrid 3 a luxury ride that limits its carbon impact.

While BMW of Riverside has got our hands full selling all these 2011 bmw 5 series Corona, our friends at BMW South Africa are down south doing some pretty cool things. At their Rosslyn plant, located in Pretoria, BMW South Africa has joined forces with the City of Tshwane to build a waste-to-energy project next year.

Many BMW vehicles already make use of gas-saving innovations like stop-start tech, regenerative brake systems, electric pumps and power steering, and 8-speed ZF transmission, and now BMW is planning to throw one more piece of fuel-friendly tech into its lineup.
